Our origin
Welcome to the Neurological Institute of Foundation’s “Our History” page. Founded in 2021, our organization emerged from a deep commitment to improving the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities in Guatemala. Our leaders in both Guatemala and the U.S. recognized the critical need for enhanced neurological care and educational support in the region. Driven by a vision of equity and inclusivity, we established a partnership with the Instituto Neurológico de Guatemala, aiming to provide vital resources, training, and advocacy. Join us as we explore our journey, highlighting the milestones that have shaped our mission and the impact we strive to make in the lives of those we serve.
2021
Established a non-for-profit foundation based in Maryland, USA
The founders established the Neurological Institute of Foundation in Maryland, U.S.. Their mission was to support the Instituto Neurológico de Guatemala by providing training, resources, and expertise specifically aimed at helping students with intellectual disabilities. Through partnerships, fundraising efforts, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, the foundation aimed to enhance neurological healthcare and educational opportunities, fostering collaboration and improving outcomes for these students in both Guatemala and the U.S.

The Neurological Institute Foundation (NIF) held the inaugural ceremony at the house of the Ambassador of Guatemala in Washington, D.C. Alfonso Quinonez.
This event marked the official launch of our mission to support individuals with intellectual disabilities in Guatemala. Attended by key stakeholders, partners, and community advocates, the ceremony highlighted our commitment to enhancing neurological care and education in the region. It was a moment of celebration, collaboration, and shared vision, setting the stage for impactful initiatives to come.

Our foundation attended an auction to raise awareness and support for our programs.
We participated in an auction aimed at raising awareness and support for our programs. The event brought together passionate supporters, advocates, and local leaders, all united by a common goal: to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities in Guatemala. Through spirited bidding and generous donations, we not only raised vital funds but also fostered meaningful connections and increased visibility for our mission.
