July 15 is World Youth Skills Day and the United Nations is commemorating it with a special event on the theme “Developing skills to improve youth employment”.
Provided a unique opportunity for dialogue between youth, educational institutions. Reflecting on the situation of young women and girls, young people with disabilities, those from the poorest and/or rural communities continue to be excluded due to a combination of factors.
The Neurological Institute Foundation reiterates its commitment to support the training of young people, promoting the technical and professional training of young people who attend the Neurological Institute of Guatemala.
The Neurological Institute of Guatemala offers training programs to young people through vocational workshop programs whose purpose is to promote labor inclusion for young people over 21 years of age, according to their characteristics, needs and interests. Through occupational training, carrying out work activities and the qualification of personal and social skills, the development of personal autonomy, social participation and inclusion in the labor market are encouraged.
Also with labor inclusion programs, ensure access, under equal conditions, of people with intellectual disabilities in the workplace. Offering an alternative for labor inclusion with the necessary support to be able to work and integrate fully and truly into a company, promoting the autonomy and appreciation of people with intellectual disabilities or autism, thus enhancing their personal, social and work development. We have successful labor inclusion processes, managed through alliances with inclusive companies, both national and international.
Because we believe that opportunities should be for everyone.
